Schematic Of Right Punch
     The illustration above (illustration #1) shows the tennis ball twirling above your head. If the ball strikes an object at a point on the circle where your right shoulder is located, as shown above, the momentum generated by the weight of the ball and the ball's speed would travel in
the direction of the arrow. Look at the schematic of the right punch. As you can see, in order to avoid losing some of the force you must rotate your shoulders slightly past where they are square to the opponent to achieve the proper angle of impact. It should be noted that you do not want to rotate the shoulders too far past being square to your opponent. Remember, having your hips and shoulders square to the opponent allows you to strike, punch, or kick with either side of your body.
